Induction loop

Description

An induction loop is a loop of conductive cable embedded in the road surface and connected to a detection unit that generates electromagnetic fields.


When a vehicle with metal parts drives over the loop or stands still above it, the electromagnetic field changes.


This change is recognized by the detection unit and translated into a signal that can open the barrier, keep it closed, or control other actions.


The groove is cut into the road surface using a diamond saw.


ATTENTION: In the immediate vicinity of the detection loop, concrete reinforcement, other electrical cables, metal objects, and high-voltage cables can interfere with the induction field of the detection loop. Therefore, the detection loop must be installed at a certain minimum distance from these objects and cables, and the electrical supply cable to the loop must be shielded.
